I had the fortune to take the HazMat ID with the brothers and sisters at Stow FD and I found it very interesting. It is almost a MUST for fire based HazMat Teams that see a frequent turn over in their unit personnel. It teaches an easy fine and quick way to work though an algorithmic set of charts and quickly determine what you have without the benefit of years of HazMat hands on training.
That being said it also teaches quite a bit to HazMat Teams that are dedicated HazMat ONLY and do not have a high turnover.
